The Little Things Make The Small Business Better



The owners of small businesses often run into a lot of road bumps. Usually a small business owner is learning on the fly and doesn't realize the obstacles that might be in the way. Sometimes it is a logistical problem like shipping, or an unforeseen licensing problem. But other times it is the little things like getting the right cleaning supplies for the office or providing little pick-me-ups for the employees, like coffee.

Coffee is one of the most popular beverages in the country, and is, by far, the most popular beverage among adults. A working adult usually suffers from a crash at the workplace. Some people call it the two o'clock doldrums or the afternoon energy crash. Productivity really picks up with a little bit of coffee, rich with caffeine.

By providing coffee to the employees, you set up an enjoyable workplace environment. Perhaps you slip the coffee maker into a lunch break room, or maybe you set it up out in the open for everyone to enjoy at any time. People will tend to gather around the coffee maker to talk about their day, joke about the weekend and make small talk. This bonds the workforce and makes for a more productive and happy environment.

But it is easy to forget about all the little things that make a good coffee stand at the workplace. The coffee and the coffee filters are a no-brainer, but there are a few other items that make a good coffee space. Many people love sugar or creamer in their coffee, but not everyone likes the calories of sugar. These people prefer artificial sweetener. Coffee stirrers can aid in putting the sugar, cream or sweetener in the coffee and they won't melt like straws. And bottled water is preferred by those who don't like to drink coffee.
